CUSTOM COMBINATION MASSAGE – is a massage integrating more than one style or massage modality. It can combine techniques from swedish massage, deep tissue massage, reflexology and trigger point therapy. These combinations are used to tailor the massage towards your personal preferences and specific needs. The therapist will use their expertise to combine techniques from multiple massage types to best benefit your specific needs. This blend of techniques should relieve stress and tension in your body, and provide pain relief if needed. A combination massage is a great choice for someone not as familiar with massage. It can help you discover your preferred massage technique in one quick session. Or, allow you to enjoy multiple modalities at once.

SWEDISH MASSAGE – is a modality that relaxes the entire body. A massage therapist gently strokes the muscles in the direction that the blood flows to the heart. It is known for its relaxation powers, but is also extremely beneficial for increasing oxygen levels in the bloodstream, improving flexibility and circulation, and reducing stress. It is often recommended for people who only have an occasional body massage and are looking primarily for relaxation instead of relief from pain or tension. The massage therapist will perform various massage strokes and movements to warm up the muscle tissue, the pressure and techniques can be customized based on your particular needs.  Swedish massage is the perfect type of massage for whole-body relaxation and stress removal.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE – is used for both pain relief and relaxation. In this massage, the therapist focuses on realigning and loosening deep layers of muscles and connective tissue. Some people complain about painful “knots” in their back or shoulders. These are rigid tissues in the muscles or tendons, which may be blocking circulation causing inflammation and pain. With a deep tissue massage, these rigid tissues or knots are broken down for pain relief. This type of massage is very effective people with stiff necks, sore shoulders, and or back pain. Many people who work at a desk and sit all day find alleviation from a deep tissue massage. The massage therapist will work slowly and apply deep pressure to specific problem areas. The therapist may use their knuckles, elbows, hands, fingertips and forearms during the massage, and you may even be asked to take deep breaths at times when work on the tense areas is in progress.

SPORTS MASSAGE – This specialized form of massage is used to prepare athletes for peak performance and is given before, during and after sports events. The purpose of sports massage is to prevent injuries by draining away fatigue, reducing muscle tension, relieving swelling, and promoting flexibility. It is primarily used during training for improving athletic performance or for rehabilitation. Sports massage is considered beneficial for athletes at all levels. During this type of massage, a therapist will primarily work on specific muscles involved in your athletic activity. The massage incorporates techniques from across different schools of massage therapy to help maximize performance and physical conditioning. Some of these modalities are for relaxation, others help break up knots in the muscles, increase circulation, and increase your range of motion. A sports massage is sought out to help maximize training and performance for an event, and recover from any sports-related injuries or soreness. With this type of massage, you may also benefit from increase of blood flow, increased flexibility and range of motion, quicker elimination of lactic acid, which is an exercised-induced chemical compound and faster recovery from intense training or race days

TRIGGER POINT MASSAGE – focuses on releasing trigger points, which are small, tight knots that develop in muscles that may even cause pain in other areas of the body helping improve range of motion, posture, and alignment. Trigger point massage involves a more targeted approach focused directly on releasing painful trigger points, so the sessions are meant to be more therapeutic and results-oriented than luxurious or relaxing. Trigger point massages involve applying direct pressure to trigger points, which can be uncomfortable or painful at first (of course, your therapist will talk to you throught the session to make sure they don’t use too much pressure). Each pain point may be pressed, massage, and stretched, sometimes requiring you to actively participate in stretching or other movements. The sessions are meant to treat pain and tight muscles and won’t be relaxing the same way as a Swedish massage would be, for example. Regular sessions can help with chronic pain, which is sometimes the result of referral pain from trigger points.

HOT STONE MASSAGE   A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy. It’s used to help you relax, increases circulation & metabolism and ease tense muscles & damaged soft tissues throughout your body. During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body and/or massage therapists may hold heated stones as they massage your body using Swedish massage techniques such as: long strokes, circular movements, vibration and kneading. Benefits of Hot Stone Massage: Provides relief from pain associated with fibromyalgia, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other chronic conditions, Decreases pain and muscle spasms, Reduces chronic stress and tension, Increases flexibility in joints, aiding in easier mobility and movement and Relieves pain and tension created by strained and contracted muscles.  Melt away stress and tension with this deeply relaxing massage. Hot Stones are incorporated into the massage to enhance the benefits by accessing deeper muscular levels and encouraging blood flow.  These water-heated stones are very soothing and healing to mind, body, and spirit.

HIMALAYAN SALT STONE MASSAGE  Himalayan salt has 84 trace minerals. Once these minerals are absorbed through the skin, the salt helps balance the body’s pH as well as helps aid in proper metabolism, improving circulation, reducing inflammation, improving sleep  and calming the nervous system. It also helps to reduce the signs of aging among its other benefits.  The salt stones are warmed and applied during a full-body massage, giving clients additional heat to allow the organic trace minerals in the stones to penetrate into the skin and body, making it a truly therapeutic treatment.
